Mushroom Privacy Policy
Effective date: Oct. 12, 2026
Mushroom ("the App") is a daily-quest app for small groups of friends, made by Kellco Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the App collects, why, who can see it, where it is stored, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at kellco@kellcoapps.com.
1. What we collect
When you sign in (with Apple or Google):
- your email address, from Apple or Google. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we only receive Apple's private relay address;
- your name, if Apple or Google provides it, which becomes your display name (you can change it);
- an account identifier from Apple or Google, so you can sign in again.
When you use the App:
- Profile: your display name and your timezone (taken from your device, changeable in the App). The timezone decides which day your answers count toward the daily reward limit.
- Groups: the groups you create or join, your role in them, and the invite codes you create.
- Answers: your answers to each day's question, and when you answered.
- Coins: a record of the coins you earn and spend in the App.
- Notification settings: your settings per group, and which members you muted.
- Device token: a push-notification token for your device, so we can send you notifications.
- Crash reports: if the App crashes or hits an error, a report with technical details (what went wrong in the code, your device model, operating system and App version, and your account's random identifier). Crash reports never include your name, email or answers.
- Wrong invite codes: when an invite code you enter does not exist, we keep a record of the attempt for up to one day, to stop people guessing codes.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, or advertising identifier. The App has no ads and no analytics or tracking for advertising, and we never sell your information.
2. Who can see what
Mushroom is built so your friends see your answers only when they have answered too:
- Members of your groups can see your display name, timezone, the fact that you answered a day's question, and, once they have answered that day, your answer. People outside your groups cannot see any of this.
- Your notification settings and mutes are visible only to you.
- We (Kellco Apps) can access the stored data to run, maintain and fix the App. We do not read your answers except when needed to investigate a problem you report or a misuse of the App.
3. Why we use it
To provide the App: sign-in, groups and the daily question, showing answers, coins and rewards, notifications, and fixing crashes and errors. We do not use your information for advertising.
4. Services that process data for us
| Service | What it does | Data |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase (hosting in the United States, us-east-1) | Accounts, database, server functions | Everything in section 1 except crash reports |
| Google Firebase Cloud Messaging | Delivers notifications | Device token, the notification's text |
| Google Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reports | Crash reports (section 1) |
| Apple Push Notification service | Delivers notifications to iPhones | Device token, the notification's text |
| Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In | Sign-in | As described in section 1 |
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. How long we keep it
- Your account, profile, groups, answers and coin records: until you delete your account. A deleted answer's text is erased right away.
- Device tokens: until you sign out, uninstall the App, or the token expires.
- Crash reports: up to 90 days.
- Wrong invite-code records: up to one day.
6. Your choices and rights
- Change your display name and timezone in the App (Profile).
- Delete an answer in the App; its text is erased.
- Leave a group at any time.
- Notifications: turn each kind off per group in the App, or turn them off in your phone's settings.
- Delete your account: email kellco@kellcoapps.com from the address you sign in with (or tell us your display name if you use Hide My Email). We delete your account and all its data within 30 days.
- Access or correct your data: email us.
7. Children
Mushroom is not intended for children under 13 (under 14 in South Korea), and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Users in South Korea
- Transfer abroad: the information in section 1 is stored and processed in the United States (Supabase, us-east-1) and by Google and Apple's services listed in section 4, starting when you sign in, over encrypted connections, for the purposes in section 3 and for the periods in section 5. If you do not want this, you can choose not to use the App or delete your account.
- Privacy contact: Kellco Apps, kellco@kellcoapps.com.
- You may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a halt to the processing of your information by emailing us.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. For significant changes, we will also tell you in the App.
